Floating Cinema

Today I went to a showing of short films at Bow Locks, as part of The Floating Cinema. The films were screened on a narrow boat and featured some of the best films relating to East London from the last ten years. It was a new experience watching films on a boat, and a good way of discovering the work of new and established filmmakers: some good and some bad. Follow the link to see more.

I got back to London on Saturday, having been away for 7 weeks. It's always good to be back.

New navigation

A slightly updated layout, making it easier to navigate through posts with options to see only my own work, my inspiration or my photography. I might add more navigation options once I have trialled this version.

Linski Design

'Espresso Solo'  is a concrete coffee machine designed by Shmuel Linski; it's one of the nicest things I've seen in a while.

Some polaroids from the weekend. Because I'm using damaged polaroid film these were the only two I was really happy with.

A weekend away

A rare weekend off work was spent here.

I recently came across this online doodle site, where you can display the drawings you create and share them via social media. There is a really nice simplicity to this site, a white canvas and a choice of four pens and an eraser and a really good quality to the lines you can draw. But it makes me wonder whether we don't know how to use a paper and pen anymore, a sentiment echoed in one my doodles.

(Birthday) Things

This week:

birthday things

Layouts for toy packaging I designed to highlight the damage premature sexualisation can have on children. These look like conventional toys, but they instruct girls to wear make-up and save for plastic surgery. An exaggerated take on what huge companies do every day.

The Greatest Conversation II

More visuals from my ambient campaign designed to challenge why, in public, we don't talk to strangers anymore. Because, the greatest conversation you'll ever have is with a stranger.
